We all sleep to rest. Depending on your age, you need a certain amount of hours of sleep to be able to function during the day. For example, babies and infants need around 14-17 hours of sleep, while adults need around 7-9 hours of sleep. Either way, as humans, we spend about one-third of our lives sleeping. Sleeping is important because it restores the brain’s energy. After using your brain all day, it needs a break, with sleeping. We often sleep because it makes us feel better. Sleeping is very beneficial. If you get a good amount of sleep then, we will be happier, more alert, and more energetic. Sleep plays an important part in the brain’s connectivity. A way to think about sleeping is eating. Just like eating, sleeping is one of our life-sustaining activities. Similarly, we need both to live. Now we know how important sleeping is. So, what would happen if we didn’t sleep?

If we didn’t sleep, it would make us go tired, and as a result, cranky. Going without sleep will also make us psychotic, which eventually kill you. Without sleep can create many problems such as, bad memory, a lack of alertness, relationship stress, and drowsiness. If you were to continue without sleep, long-term problems will be created, including, serious health issues. These serious issues include high blood pressure, diabetes, heart attack, heart failure or stroke. Other problems that could occur is depression and obesity. Another thing that no sleep could affect is your appearance. If you went without sleep, dark circles will appear under your eyes. As time passes, no sleep will also lead to premature wrinkling. This means you will start to get wrinkles young. Yikes!
As mentioned, there are many problems that will happen if you went without sleep. So make sure you sleep and you are getting enough of it!
