Getting a phone is a big responsibility

When you really want a phone

Let’s say you’re in the mall with your mom. You see some other people who have a phone. Then you suddenly really want a phone and this is what you say to you mom:

You: Mom, can we please buy a phone in the mall. All of the other kids my age have their own and it’s not fair!

Mom: First of all, a phone is expensive. Second, it’s a big responsibility to have one. So you have to show me to have one. But right now, no phone!

Ok, so that makes a lot of sense. Phones are really expensive. For an Iphone 8, it will cost $588 or more! And Mom’s right. It’s a big responsibility to have a phone. Here are some responsibilities of having a phone:

1. Forgetting your phone

It’s a nice day. You are playing on your phone outside. You go inside for a little break to your friend’s house. Oh No! You forgot your phone! Now you will have to take a long walk back to your house!

2. Turning your ringer off that you forget your parent’s calls

You hear loud volume coming from your phone. You your turn ringer off. Then when it’s 2:30 and you check your phone, it says missed calls from Mom and Dad twice! Oh No! Your Ringer was off the whole time! Now Mom and Dad will be mad !

3. Breaking your Phone

You are running around with your phone, feeling so happy that you don’t realize that your phone slipped out your hand. You hear a breaking sound. Oh No! The phone broke! Mom and Dad will be angry!
