Why We Should Have School Uniforms
Did you know that some public schools have mandatory uniforms? In my opinion, these schools should have uniforms for their students. I believe this because they increase a kid’s sense of belonging, helps prevent bullying, and forbids inappropriate school attire.
They Increase Our Sense of Belonging
One reason I think school uniforms would be beneficial to our school is that they increase a student’s sense of belonging. Since all students would wear the same uniform, it makes them think that they are part all part of the same group. Also, students would not be left out because of their clothes, so they can be part of friendships that would not be possible otherwise. Finally, kids can proudly wear their uniform, and show that they belong to a specific school. That is 0ne reason why I think we should have school uniforms.
They Help Prevent Bullying
Another reason school uniforms would be great in public schools is that they help prevent bullying. Tons of bullying is caused by a kid’s sense of fashion or clothing. If everybody wore the same thing, they can’t be bullied, because the bully would be wearing the same clothes! Furthermore, some kids can’t afford branded clothes, for which they are put in a “lower-tier” social group. If schools had uniforms, however, their groups won’t be dependent on clothing. On top of that, there are a couple of kids who don’t care how their hair is styled, but with school uniforms, they have to have their hair styled a certain way too. This way, kids can’t be bullied. That is the second reason as to why we should have school uniforms.
They Forbid Inappropriate School Attire
My final reason for why I think school uniforms would help students is that they 
forbid inappropriate school attire. Uniforms would not allow students to wear their own clothes. This may sound bad, but it makes it so that they can’t wear bad clothes, because they will be wearing their uniform. In 2007, there was a government case involving a student wearing a t-shirt that did not support the president at the time. School uniforms would prevent anything like this from happening. Finally, some students like to wear appropriate attire to show off their defiance to school rules. Uniforms would pin this problem down.
