Minecraft
Minecraft is a video game that is available on iPad, Android, iPhone, Windows 10 and all versions of Xbox. In this game there are two modes: survival and creative. When you first open the app there are 5 options: play, achievements, settings, store and skins. In settings you can change all your graphics and change your name. In skins you can change your skin, or what you look like.
You start off as a character called Steve which is the default name. In the store you can buy things with Mine-coins which you have to purchase with real money, however there are sometimes sales which makes things free. Some of the things you can buy in the store are worlds, add-ons and texture packs. If you pressed achievements it would ask you to sign into your Xbox live account. If you do not have one you will have to create one. Finally when you press the play button, it will bring you to where you can create your worlds!
Servers, Friends and Worlds
On the top of the play screen there will be three tabs: Worlds, Friends and Servers. You will start off on the worlds tab. Here you can view all of your worlds. If you do not have any, there will be a Create New button. After you find the button, just press it. It will bring you to a whole lot of options.
First the game-mode option. There are 2 game-modes. They are called survival and creative. In survival, you have try your best to survive the monster attacks. They come out during the night so you should build a shelter before the sun goes down. In creative mode, you can build whatever you like with various blocks. You will also have unlimited access to every single block the game has. That is a lot of different types of blocks! It does still become night and monsters will still come out but you can’t die and the best part is, you can fly!
On the friends tab you can play on your friends worlds together. To play at any time anywhere you will need an Xbox live account. But to play together without a Xbox live account, you need to play on a LAN connection. To do this, both people need to be on the same WiFi network. One person plays on their world, and in the friends tab the other person can see the person who is playing. After you see the person who is playing in the friends tab you click their name and you will spawn in their world.
Finally, there is the servers tab. On the servers tab, there will be multiple servers to choose from. But to play on servers you need an Xbox live account. On servers, there are various mini games that you play with other people. Some of the games include Bedwars, Skywars and Eggwars. They’re all super fun!
