Long Plane Ride Tips
Going on a plane? Maybe for vacation? Or maybe for school or work purposes? Either way, going a plane may not be the best experience. Long plane rides don’t have to be something dreaded. Here are some tips to make the most of your next long plane ride.
Wear Comfortable Clothes
Depending on the plane itself and how you’re feeling, the plane’s temperature can be either cold or hot. Maybe you’re freezing cold, while somebody else next to you is hot. The temperature on the plane can be uncomfortable, so it is better to be prepared. Wear the clothes you think will make you feel better during a long flight. For example, instead of wearing regular socks, try wearing fuzzy socks! I suggest layering, so you can adjust to feel comfortable in the temperatures on the plane.
Bring a Portable Blanket and Pillow
Bringing a blanket and a pillow can make sleeping on the plane feel very comfortable. I personally, like to use the pillows shaped like a U when I’m on the plane for neck support. Make sure to bring a portable one, so it’s easier to transport and carry. For example, you can use a blow up pillow, instead of bringing a regular pillow so it is easier to carry. All you need to do is just blow it up when you get on the plane. Also, bring a small, but warm blanket. There is also a 2 in 1 pillow that can convert into a blanket, you can check out online.
Charge up
It is essential you bring your chargers with you, so you can charge it at the airport or on the plane. The worst thing is having your phone or I-pad dying while on the plane. Chances are, you will use your gadgets a lot during the long plane ride for entertainment. Just in case, bring a portable charger, because not every airline allows these, and some might not have charging outlets.
Bring Entertainment
Before you go on your long plane ride, bring entertainment, to pass time. You can download games and apps on your phone or I-pad. Load your gadgets up with movies, shows, music, books, and the airline’s app (sometimes they have free movies on their app).
Bring Wipes
You don’t know who sat in the seat before you or if anyone had a sickness, so it is very important to pack wipes. The last thing you want is to get sick while on vacation, so pack preferably, anti-bacterial wipes to wipe down the seat, armrests, and tray table. The dirtiest areas on the plane is the tray table and the pocket in front of you, so try to avoid those areas.
Pack Snacks
You may get hungry on a long flight, so pack your own snacks. It takes usually about 40 minutes before the crew brings you snacks and drinks, so if you tend to get hungry, pack your own snacks. Plus, you might not like the options the crew offers on the plane.
With these helpful tips, your long plane ride will pass quickly. Hopefully these will help you make the most of a long plane ride!
