My dance school
I go to a dance school called Rhythmaya School Of Dance. It’s lots of fun! You get to learn different types of dances like Kathak, Bollywood, and Fusion dance. Read more about Rhythmaya below and maybe you will join the dance school as well!
My Experience
When I first started Rhythmaya, I was not that good and I needed help with some of the dance moves. But now I can dance to any beat and I can dance much better! Rhythmaya also helped me gain some more confidence and helped me learn to love dancing. There are 6 levels listed in ascending order, Tots, Minis, Advanced Minis, Juniors, Advanced Juniors, and Teens. I started with the Minis and moved up to Advanced Juniors as I got older and better. You’ll be in one of these levels based on your age and your ability.
Performances
You will get lots of opportunities to perform on stage, compete in a competition or even to be on TV! This past year I got the opportunity to perform at a Wizards half-time show and I was on the jumbotron and on TV! Every year, Rhythmaya ends with an annual day tentatively in April. It is in a huge auditorium at Georgetown University in DC. If you are a student, Rhythmaya has us put on costumes for our performances. It makes us look awesome and the colors really stand out on the stage! Rhythmaya lets you borrow the costumes even if you want to perform somewhere else, like a school talent show.
Summer Camp
In the summer, you can go to a Rhythmaya Summer camp to have fun with your friends and learn some super cool dances! The teachers will still teach Kathak, Bollywood, and Fusion, but they will also teach Hip-Hop! Rhythmaya classes will start again in September when school starts. My teachers and directors always encourage us to improve our skills and learn from our mistakes. They are also fun and I love all of my teachers and directors so much!
I really hope you liked this blog! You can find more about Rhythmaya on Google and YouTube if you want to find more information about it! Please come and join us in Rhythmaya and I hope to see you there!
