Mosler
Mosler – Warren Mosler founded this company in 1985 giving it the name Consulier. The company 1st started in Florida and has been private ever since, but there are factories in Europe. The first car was the MT900S and MT900R racer.
The Contest
He offered $25,000 to a person who was able to race 1 car around the track in the U.S and beat his Consulier GTP model . The Challenger was Car and Driver magazine and had a Chevy Corvette, it won and complaints were made.
As it turns out, the Corvette raced against a older model and a lot of parts were worn out it was sent for new brake pads. Car and Driver was upset when they heard this and they said that new parts meant a new driver changing the car. He said they could use any driver they wanted but Car and Driver refused and wrote a bad review about the car.
It claimed that Mosler didn’t uphold his side of the bargain. It wasn’t sad, he kept making cars that looked great and drove smoothly. The Consulier GTP went in a lot of races before being banned in 1991.
Only 100 GTP’s were produced in total. In the 1990’s it was a thriving time for Mosler, they produced more Environmentally Friendly cars. It is a car with confidence, Warren Mosler was a man who’s life’s ambition was to create cars on the road that caught your attention.
The MT900R won a lot of championships, EX: Nurburgring F1 track. He even made a Jeep out of old GM parts. In 1997 Mosler’s Intruder was given a V-shaped windshield for aerodynamics and renamed it the Raptor. The MT900R was made in 2001.
He really keeps quiet on how they make these super/hyper/sports cars and there really is a lot of detail. I just can’t cover with Mosler it really is such a large but private company.
