The Saturn V, Nasa’s biggest project to launch the Apollo missions from Kennedy space center in Florida. Lego has now created an awesome new and improved set that will blowyour mind.
Join me now as we take a journey through the Saturn v/5 and rocket world. The Saturn V, the reason man went to the moon. Lego has now created a version of theirs in the Lego Ideas set.No.21309. It has 1969 pieces topping out at 39 inches (over 3 feet) and 3 capsules.
The set also includes a touchdown module, and a Apollo moon-landing, also with stands. It’s really durable and can even be held by a single hand. What makes it great is how you build it. And still get that feeling that you went to the moon and back a few times. It’s amazing how you have your own moon landing right here.
The Story/Opinions
During the Cold War(1945-1992) Dr. Vernher Von Bron, a German Rocket Scientist was kidnapped by the U.S. government, he was taken to Huntsville, Alabama, where he built rockets that never failed. NASA was impressed. But they had to pick only one of his creations and the one they picked was the Saturn V.
The Lego one was created in August 2014 beacuse of the user ‘saabfan’ and ‘whatsuptoday’ who posted the Saturn v to Lego Ideas, and went through their extremely complicated process and got the set immediately. It’s currently the biggest Lego Ideas set it has 1969 pieces!
I think this set is one of the Best, sets Lego has ever made, based on peoples recommendations, and the public rather than themselves. If you don’t know Ideas or the system click here. but anyways it’s huge, it’s more than 3 feet tall in length, and a bit short in width, its recommendation age is 14 and up ,but just about anyone (4+) can build it.
My opinion would be that this set really has a heart, it reminds us of our space past, and then it predicts what NASA would do in the future of rocket science and space. Thank you for reading and please leave a comment below.
