This summer I went to the Outer Banks on vacation. We rented a beach house in Duck! The water was nice and so was the weather, but that was only on some days. The other days were good water or bad weather. I went boogie boarding and tried to surf but I couldn’t even get on the board. I also built a few sandcastles when the water got too cold or rough (I usually spend the most of the time at the beach in the water).

But we didn’t spend all of our time at the beach. We went to the Wright Brothers monument too. It’s so amazing how someone at such young age could invent something that at their time was beyond anyone’s wildest dream.In the museum they had a flying model of  the original Wright Brothers flight.

There was also a boardwalk and a donut store called Duck Donuts.You can even pick the toppings on your doughnut along with the icing! The boardwalk was really long but had an amazing view. Also along the boardwalk was an OBX(Outer Banks) Sugar Shack. If you’ve ever read Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, then you would know that one of the drinks that Harry likes is butter beer. Well in the Sugar shack they sold butter beer. It tasted rather sweet like butterscotch (it wasn’t real beer; it was actually soda). If you’re planning to take a peaceful family vacation to the Outer Banks, then I personally recommend Duck NC!
