Global warming is a term that most people are aware of in today’s world. Sadly that’s because the world really is warming up. Many people and cultures blame the loss of species around the world on global warming. The truth is, people are just as guilty.
Amazon Rainforest
Have you ever heard of the Amazon Rainforest? It’s the largest rainforest in the world. The the health and survival of people all across the world depends health and survival of this rainforest. The Amazon rainforest produces 20% of the oxygen in our atmosphere and is a home to more than half of the world’s plant and animal species. Imagine what would happen if we don’t take care of our rainforests. Nothing good for sure.
Science experts estimate that we maybe losing almost 137 species of plants and animals a day! If that already seems like a lot (which it is) think about how many species we lose a year. More than 50,000 plant and animal species. Worst of all this is due to the deforestation of the amazon rainforest. In these last 40 years more than 20% of the Amazon rainforest was cut down.”Scientists fear that an additional 20 percent of the trees will be lost over the next two decades.”
We can’t let our world’s largest rainforest crumble and fall. We have to stand up for our world. We have to stand up for our animals. We can’t let 5 million animals species die out because of us. We have to take action. Now!
