Some people say that 2016 was the worst year yet. But let’s be optimistic. So I decided that I should make a list about the top twenty events of 2016 in order to change the opinion of people who thought this was the worst year yet.

20. Hey STAR WARS fans remember Rouge One came out this year!
19. Bet you didn’t know this, but Bertrand Piccard became the first person to fly around the world without using any fuel! Guess what, he did it in 2016!
18. Hey, Baseball fanatics the Cubs won the World series in 2016 after 108 years of trying.
17. Malaria became extinct in Sri Lanka!
16. Scientists figured out how to connect robotic limbs to Human brains!
15. Endangered species are growing once again in 2016 such as Pandas and Tigers
14: Did you watch this great blockbuster? Fantastic Beasts came out this Year!
13. J.K Rowling has been working hard this year. The new book Harry Potter and The Cursed Child came out this year! Doible in for Harry Potter fans.
12. “Ok Google!” Google Home came out this year!
11. Volunteers in India planted 50 million trees in 24 hours, and if you think this is a typo you are wrong!

10. NASA’s Juno made a big hit (In the space Industry.) Juno was the first probe to closely orbit Jupiter.
9. The New X-Box One S came out this year ( Good Job Microsoft.)
8. The Ozone Layer is repairing itself! Let’s keep going and maybe stop Global Warming entirely!
7. Harriet Tubman replaced Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill.
6. 24 countries decided to establish the worlds largest marine reserve in Antarctica. This is a big accomplishment to try to save wildlife.
5. The Americas are officially declared Measles free!!! No more worrying about Measles anymore!!!
4. Did you watch the Summer Olympics this year? Micheal Phelps won the most gold medals in the Olympics! Also Usain Bolt is still the fastest runner in the world.

1. Albert Einstein’s theory was correct, and gravitational waves can be detected!
