There are some sports that everyone is familiar with, like soccer and basket ball. But have you ever heard of Chess boxing? Well I haven’t until now. It’s a sport that is played with one round of speed chess and one round of boxing.
What about Buzkashi? It’s a game of rugby played while riding a horse and with a dead goat. Weird or cool? My point is that there are so many sports that are both cool and weird. But barely anyone’s ever heard of them. Here are some sports that I believe deserve recognition : disk golf , shin kicking, and underwater hockey. Let’s start with underwater hockey. A lot of sports have gone underwater too. For example Rugby and Football. But underwater hockey seems like a bit of a stretch. check this out…
This is a picture of one of the players in the Australian Underwater Hockey team. Surprise! One sport that surely caught my attention was shin kicking. Though I might argue whether it’s a sport or not. There was actually a Shin Kicking Championship this year (2016). Here is a picture.
the whole point of this game is to kick your opponents shins. Ouch! But it’s pretty cool to learn about. And look at that crowd! I actually learned about disk golf because there was a disk golf net where I went camping. It’s a lot like Frisbee but with a chained basketball net. Just makes it more fun. It’s always good to appreciate little things, weird things and of course amazing things.
