Right when school starts, the pressure is on! There are Mounds of homework, tests everyday, and you have to study to keep your grade up. But why does all this stop after you get the grade you wanted? What’s the point of learning the learning something when you won’t apply it ever again?
This is what most students do, they study really hard but right after they pass the test they practically erase and trace of that lesson from their mind. That mindset has to change if you want to be successful. For example if you want to be a doctor when you grow up you can’t just forget about everything you learn in science class.
Getting an A on a test is a great thing but that’s only the very first step. Your teachers help you get to that first step so that you will know where to go for your next step. So what is the next step after that?
Set Goals For Yourself
The first thing you have to do is to set goals for yourself. What do you want to achieve this year, in the next 5 years, and so on. That way you will know what you have to do to achieve your goals. Just getting a good grade won’t get you into a good college. You have to work hard off of the base that you are given.
To make sure you don’t forget the important lessons in school you should apply it in your life. Like if you take spanish at school you should order your meal in spanish every time you go to a Mexican restaurant. If your science teacher showed the class an interesting experiment then you should try it in your own time.
Applying what you learned is one of the best ways to remember what you learned. Everything you learn in school was taught to you with a purpose, it’s up to you to figure out what that purpose is. If you want to be successful you have to go higher than the A!
